Canada Goose: From Arctic Utility to Global Luxury

Origins

Founded in 1957 by Sam Tick in Toronto, Canada, Canada Goose began as Metro Sportswear Ltd., specializing in wool vests, raincoats, and snowmobile suits designed to withstand Canada’s harsh winters. In the 1970s, under the leadership of Tick’s son-in-law, David Reiss, the company introduced down-filled jackets, supplying parkas to public sector workers and explorers. The brand was renamed Snow Goose before adopting the Canada Goose moniker in 2000.L
