ROKSANDA: Sculpted Femininity in Colour
Origins
ROKSANDA was founded in 2005 by Serbian-born designer Roksanda Ilinčić, who studied architecture and applied arts in Belgrade before earning a master’s in womenswear at Central Saint Martins in London. The brand made its debut at London Fashion Week, instantly garnering attention for its bold use of color, sculptural shapes, and confident approach to femininity.
Ownership
In 2024, ROKSANDA entered a new chapter when it sold to The Brand Group, a fashion investment platform. Ilinčić remains the brand's Creative Director, guiding its aesthetic and vision while leveraging the new ownership to scale globally.
Aesthetic
ROKSANDA’s design language centers on the dialogue between structure and softness, strength and vulnerability. The label frequently uses striking color blocking, contrasting fabrics (oftentimes using different materials front and back), and dramatic silhouettes that subtly balance volume and tailoring. Its work draws on architectural thinking—lights and shadow, form and movement—while maintaining a deeply woman‑centred perspective.

Legacy
Over nearly two decades, ROKSANDA has established itself as a go-to for modern dressing that doesn’t shy from boldness. Its pieces have been worn on red carpets and by royalty—its designs have been donned by Catherine, Princess of Wales; Michelle Obama; Cate Blanchett; and others.
The brand’s London flagship in Mayfair, designed in collaboration with architect David Adjaye, embodies its aesthetic philosophy in physical form—a space playing with bold geometry and tonal contrast.

Looking ahead, expect continued exploration of material innovation, global growth, and perhaps further ventures bridging fashion, art, and architecture—always rooted in powerful, feminine storytelling.
