PatBO was founded in 2012 by Brazilian designer Patricia Bonaldi in Uberlândia, Brazil. Patricia Bonaldi remains the creative force behind PatBO, overseeing all collections from her Brazil-based atelier. The brand is independently owned and proudly supports an in-house team of local female artisans, many of whom Bonaldi personally trained through her nonprofit, the Patricia Bonaldi Institute.
