Pajamas That Start Conversations: Desmond & Dempsey’s Print-Driven Sleepwear
Origins and Founding
Desmond & Dempsey was founded in 2014 by couple Molly Goddard and Joel Jeffery, who launched the brand after Molly started wearing Joel’s oversized shirts to bed. Their shared vision: to create bold, conversation-starting pajamas inspired by travel, tradition, and the romance of lazy Sunday mornings. What began as a love letter between partners evolved into a luxury sleepwear label rooted in story-driven prints and high-quality materials.
Ownership and Leadership
Still independently owned and operated from London, Desmond & Dempsey is led by co-founders Molly and Joel. Their in-house team designs every print by hand, and all garments are responsibly made using natural cotton and OEKO-TEX® certified fabrics.
Aesthetic and Design Language
Desmond & Dempsey is all about bold, painterly prints and tailored comfort. The silhouettes are inspired by men’s shirting but reimagined in soft, breathable cotton and styled with a distinctly romantic flair. Think tiger prints, jungle motifs, florals, and graphic patterns drawn from global travel. The brand offers both traditional pajama sets and relaxed slips, robes, and oversized nightshirts, always with a nod to wanderlust and whimsy.
